81/2 songs about love (and other myths) – live in my lounge

On Tuesday night my housemates and I, plus a few select guests, settled down on the sofa to watch an Edinburgh Fringe show. Not on telly, but performed live in our front room. How cool is that? Live home theatre is where it’s at, daaahling.

The divine Helen Arney (my kid sister… not a kid any more but old habits die hard) gave us a fab performance of her show “8+1/2 songs about love (and other myths)“. With songs covering ground from an over-ambitious first date to an unfortunate encounter with a radiographer and a song about Countdown – via a ditty about bums – it was a great evening of entertainment.

We had pink wine, pizza and home-made chocolate brownies – seriously, I think I’m addicted… Not healthy at all, but yummy! If you’re going to be up in Edinburgh, go and check out her show (pink wine and brownies not included). We laughed loads.

Here’s Duck and Sarah getting to grips with the pimped-up glock, in a poor attempt at audience participation:

The glockenspiel did suffer a slight injury
