Congratulations Oz and Debbie!

Another weekend, another wedding. This time I hauled myself up the motorway to Sutton Coldfield to play for Oz and Debbie on Sunday. It was a beautiful day, and the venue was the gorgeous New Hall Hotel and Spa.  Despite the dodgy knee interfering with my practice time this week, all the pieces went well.

I played Starlight by Muse for the bride’s arrival, Bring me Sunshine for the exit, and during the register signing I busted out Enter Sandman, Sweet Child O’Mine by Guns’n’Roses and New York New York.  I think they went down well – the photographer said I was definitely the coolest harpist he’d ever seen at a wedding 🙂

The weather held up all afternoon for drinks out on the patio:

The harp enjoys a bit of topiary

And here’s a not-very-flattering pic of the happy couple and their friends and relations:

A whole load of people I dont know, drinking Pimms

A whole load of people I don't know, drinking Pimms

(As an aside, it it Pimms or Pimm’s? The label on the bottle says “Pimm’s”, as in Pimm’s Number One Cup, but it looks odd. As if a rogue drunken apostrophe has slipped in.)
