Repertoire

I’m often asked to play at weddings and other functions, and am quite cheap ūüôā

If you’re interested in booking me, please email me.

Here’s a list of my current repertoire, which I’m constantly adding to. I can also accommodate any special requests – I’ve played anything from Muse to Morecambe and Wise – with a few weeks’ notice.

I’ve added (and will continue to add) a few sound clips of some rough-and-ready recordings.¬† These are just rough takes done on the fly at home.

Classical and traditional

Jazz and easy-listening

Pop and heavy metal

Testimonials

I’ve played a lot of weddings and functions in my time… Here’s just some of the feedback I get:

“[Kat] was fabulous, all of our guests commented on how beautiful her playing was and it really added to the atmosphere of our wedding. She was very professional and I would recommend her unreservedly to anyone thinking about having a harpist at their event.” Debbie, Bedford

“I was extremely happy with the whole service. From the booking to the actual delivery, Kat was prompt and played wonderfully. All of my family and friends enjoyed her music. Thank you very much for helping to create a memorable wedding.” ¬†Jas, Wood Green

“Thank you so much so playing so beautifully last night. You really made the reception feel special – it was just perfect for the venue and the event.” Julia, charity event

“You did a lovely job and you really contributed to making our day very special.” Angel and Giles

“Kat was fantastic and I will be recommending her to friends and family. I got lots of great comments from my guests about her.¬† I would¬†definitely¬†use her again.” Lisa and Daniel, Richmond

“Sarah and I just wanted to say thank you so much for playing at our wedding. You did an absolutely fabulous job and all our guests commented on how good you were. If you want I am very happy to recommend you to any of our friends getting married in the next year.” Adrian and Sarah, Brighton

“Just a quick message to thank you so much for playing at our wedding. The harp was the perfect instrument to play at the barn and the music was fantastic.¬† Everyone commented on how it complemented the wedding.¬† We would definitely recommend you to our friends if any of them decide to get married and would like a harpist! Thank you again.” Rome and Steve, Henley-on-Thames

“I found Kat¬†on a¬†general harpist website serving the Surrey area after we had contacted various other harpists in the area¬†who were either over our budget or didn’t have a good repetoire of harp music. From the start, Kat was absolutely¬†fantastic – she was professional at all times and when I was worried about my walking in music, she’d offered¬†to send me a first draft MP3 recording of the music to put my mind at ease.

Throughout the rest of the year, Kat had kept in contact with me and even went to the trouble of recording final versions of my walking in AND walking out music on MP3 so that I had the final recordings to keep forever and I knew exactly what was going to be played. This she had done with absolutely no complaints and at midnight on a weekday after a hard day at work.

For the effort¬†Kat put in to making it absolutely perfect for us, it was more than we could ever asked for and I would highly recommend her for weddings. Thank you, Kat, for making our special day just that extra bit more special!” Jess and Roy, Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park

“Huge thanks for being such a fabulous harpist on our wedding day! We truly appreciate all of your hard work arranging the two pieces we requested, particularly as they weren’t your typical choices for a wedding day! You gave us the perfect ceremony, and if you’d have seen the faces of our guests when you played Enter Sandman for the signing of the register, you would have seen the ‘wow’ factor you gave our day!The general words that were mouthed were ‘awesome’ and ‘yeah’ and there were a lot of big cheesy grins!

Many of our guests have said how beautifully you played, and they were impressed by your immense repertoire.¬† My mom still cant stop talking about you, and Simon, our photographer thought you were legendary! We cant wait to see the video, so that we can hear it all again, as you were spectacular! You made our day extra special, and we cant thank you enough!” Debbie & Oz, Sutton Coldfield

“Kat Arney, real life harpist extraordinaire, added class and sophistication to our charity ball, so thank you very much (and the discounted charity-friendly rate was also much appreciated).” Maya Currell, Thremhall Park

  1. Wonderful stuff Kat…but where’s the mp3 for the Metallica…so wanted to hear the contrast between the main man Bach and Lars!

  2. Fantastic! Do you know about SoundCloud…nice way to socialise your music…?

http://soundcloud.com/sciencebase (probably not worth listen to my stuff specifically, but the general concept is good)

    Enjoy your hols.

  3. I miss your sense of humor n great accent on NS……

    Glennnnnnn

  4. HAHAHA – Metallica on Harp…..that’s *****g inspired that is !!! – Loving your work.

I love listening to any musicians, as I struggle to record anything myself. In the studio currently recording three tracks co-written, and based around ideas that I had. It’s going ok so far….just slow….

Keep up the outstanding work. ( P.S. – would love to hear Nirvana sometime if you ever get a chance to record it !!! )

( btw – also my music blog is http://maxxthemusician.wordpress.com – just thought I’d say, as the link will take you to my other blog )

    • Hi Max, thanks for your kind words! I still need to work on the Nirvana cover a bit, but it’s more in the kind of creepy Tori Amos style rather than the original thrash version.
      Cheers,
      K ūüôā

      • …it just gets better and better…..love Tori Amos, wanted to record my tracks in her studio that she and her hubby run, but it’s too far to run the kind of project I’m doing now ( read as too far to run to when I have 5 minutes, as I do at the minute ), and would have cost too much.

  5. Never really listened to the harp before, you are educational in music as well as science ūüėČ If my girl ever agrees to marry me I want you to play at the wedding, I would love to hear you play Jazz on the trad clarinet.

This is the first blog I have ever followed – this is the only one good enough so far…..
